From our TAP classroom:
As we head into our final month of school, we are filled with excitement for these last few weeks of learning and growth together! It is bittersweet to see the year coming to a close, and we are dedicated to making every moment count as we enjoy our final days as a class before summer break.
Our focus this month is on honing essential skills to help our students finish the year strong:
- Fine Motor Mastery: We are engaging in hands-on activities specifically designed to strengthen those small muscles in the hands. This practice is vital for developing the control and dexterity needed for confident handwriting.
- Counting and Number Sense: We are moving beyond rote counting by practicing how to count groups of objects and correctly identify the total number of items in a set.
- Sight Words: We are continuing our work with sight words to build reading fluency and confidence. Encouraging your child to spot these words in their favorite books at home is a wonderful way to support this practice!
Thank you for all your support this year. We are so proud of the progress every student has made and can’t wait to celebrate our accomplishments as we look forward to the summer ahead!
- Ms. Harper, TAP Teacher
District Corner News:
The School Choice and Open Enrollment Window is still open for the 2026-2027 school year! If you would like to request that your student attend a school other than the attendance area for your address, please do so immediately. Parents are notified of their status within one week. Choice forms are available on the D2 website, at your campus or in the Student Support office at the District Administration Building.
D2 has launched our Summer Supports page on the website. Check in periodically here to learn more about what is happening for your student during the summer.
Are you aware that D2 provides America’s First Publicly Funded First-Dollar Promise Program? D2 Promise Scholarship Program (D2 Promise) pays for all tuition and fees at Pikes Peak State College (PPSC). With college costs covered, students can utilize federal and state financial aid to cover living expenses, allowing them to focus on their education. When D2 voters approved the mill levy in November 2024, the community committed up to $2 million annually for 10 years (through 2035) to ensure students can focus on their education instead of working multiple jobs to afford college.
